Porticus is a private philanthropic organisation that aims to create a just and sustainable future where human dignity flourishes. It aims to contribute to systemic social change by combining its thematic expertise with a global network of partners.
Through our partnership, we will generate robust evidence of what is – and isn’t – working, facilitate learning, and support adaptation at both programme and partner levels.
The Fair Rural Transition Programme is part of Porticus’ Purposeful Transition Portfolio, which focuses on promoting a more ecologically and socially sustainable economic system.
The programme seeks to support the transition from an extractive agriculture system to a regenerative one that conserves ecosystems, uses natural inputs and captures carbon. In doing this it also aims to improves the livelihoods of rural communities.
The programme has been developed with regional colleagues in Latin America and Europe and has both global and local partners.
Our role
We have been brought on board as a partner to accompany the programme from September 2021 to December 2023. We aim to support programme implementation through agile, evidence-based insights and impact evaluation.
We will work with Porticus and its partners to design and implement tools that will allow the programme to understand what is working well – and less well – as well as facilitate learning and support adaptation across the programme.
Outcomes and impact
We will help generate and share learning and evidence with all the programme partners to facilitate their learning for how to achieve effective and inclusive change at different levels of impact.
