- Savings and Retail Banking in Africa – Results from 2018 WSBI member bank survey – WSBI’s first annual report from 2018 encompasses primary data research gathered from the Institution’s African membership, providing a snapshot of savings and retail banking efforts to widen financial access for people in Africa.
- Change Management Inside Financial Service Providers: Takeaways from a Funder Partnering with African FSPs – this blog from Oxford Policy Management reflects on Lab partner Savings at the Frontier’s work on ‘closing the gap’ between formal and informal savings mechanisms and looks to the future as the programme enters it’s fourth year.
- State of Practice: Savings Groups and the Role of Government in Sub-Saharan Africa – Lab learning partner, the SEEP Network, has published a state of practice report which provides a comprehensive overview of government interventions in the sector across Sub-Saharan Africa. Written in collaboration with Itad, Care International and FSD Africa, this extensive study looks at government involvement in a sector traditionally driven by NGOs.
