Itad supported EC Climate Action (CLIMA) to provide a detailed mapping of existing European Union (EU) and member states’ public and private flows for the support of developing countries’ climate change adaptation and mitigation actions.
Our role
We were specifically asked to provide a critical overview of existing data sources and methodologies to track and monitor EU public and private climate financial flows, as well as assess their efficiency and limitations. We provided an overview of reporting practices in all 27 Member State countries, and selected three case studies of countries which account for different levels of details and compliance in their reporting requirements. Based on this work, our team identified the key issues which need to be addressed by policy-makers in their future definition of an MRV framework.
