Year 3 Evaluation of Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development

Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (‘Pacific Women’) aimed to improve the political, social and economic opportunities for women in countries of the Pacific Island Forum. Our evaluation assesed whether the initiative achieved its intended outcomes and identified challenges to progress.

8/11/2016

Pacific women worked across the 14 member countries of the Pacific Island Forum through strategic partnerships and funding relationships. The four areas of focus were women’s leadership and decision making, women’s economic empowerment, ending violence against women and enhancing agency.

The evaluation

Our evaluation examined whether Pacific Women contributed to increased capacity and resources, strengthened relationships, and supported action in its key result areas. Our work was a learning process through which the programme was able to take stock and indentify gaps and areas for improvement – and provided a mechanism for feedback from implementing partners and the communities it was working with.
