Melanie Punton is a Principal Consultant at Itad. She has worked on several large, multi-year impact evaluations across health, climate change, impact investment, governance, policy and advocacy, and research impact. She is an expert in innovative theory-based approaches that help explain how and why programmes work – including realist evaluation and synthesis, contribution analysis, process tracing and case-based evaluations.
Melanie is passionate about participatory methods that prioritise the voice of the people we serve, and support ongoing adaptation and learning. As the technical lead for the Adolescents 360 process evaluation, she managed participatory ethnographic research and collaborative evaluation techniques that supported A360 to learn and adapt.
Melanie is also an expert facilitator. She delivers training and capacity development on evaluation design, theory of change and qualitative methods. She supports knowledge management within Itad through improving systems, facilitating cross-company learning, and managing strategic communications to share innovation with the wider world.
