David Walker is a social development specialist with over 15 years’ research experience in aspects of gender mainstreaming, gender-based violence and child protection. Informing this work is a focus on inter-generational poverty and social norms.
David has a background in human geography and development studies, specialising in qualitative and participatory evaluative methods, including child and youth-friendly approaches. He has experience in a variety of NGOs and research institutions, including the Overseas Development Institute, Oxfam GB, the Green Economics Institute and others. David also brings broad and in-depth primary fieldwork and project experience with bilaterals, multilaterals and NGOs from a variety of settings, including East Africa, Southern Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
In his spare time, David is a founding trustee for the NGO ‘Cities for Children’, and sits on the Research Advisory Panel for the Consortium for Street Children.
