Safety and Security
Itad takes the safety and security of travelling staff and contractors extremely seriously, particularly as the focus of our sector shifts further towards working in conflict and disaster-affected environments.
We have developed a Risk Management Framework that helps us to provide a safer and more secure working environment, which minimises and manages risk, and enables us to remain present and operational across our overseas projects. Risk management is an integral part of our day-to-day decision making, and feeds into our broader strategic objectives.
To effectively implement and embed these systems, we have an experienced Travel and Security committee (TSC), made up of senior management, who provide board-level engagement and oversight. To ensure that our Duty of Care is integrated into the activities of every department of the company, the TSC conducts independent reviews and audits of our processes.
We ensure all our staff are able to respond to the fluid nature of risk management, training them to be aware of their surroundings, to look out for one another, and to develop a collective sense of the nature of risks where we work or travel. We also require the reporting of incidents and near misses so we can learn and adapt our policies and procedures.
Effective risk management and staff wellbeing is imperative to achieving our organisational purpose, and will continue to be at the heart of our projects, enabling a sustainable future for Itad.
