7/08/2015

Itad consultant Jessica Rust-Smith has recently had her work published in the book Conservation Agriculture in Subsistence Farming: Case Studies from South Asia and Beyond (edited by C Chan and J Fantle-Lepczyk, CABI, 2015)

Conservation agriculture (CA) is promoted in developing countries as a means for smallholder farmers to increase crop yields and mitigate the effects of climate change. Her contribution is Chapter 6 ‘Risk as a determinant of adoption of conservation agriculture by smallholder farmers in Malawi’. Based on her MSc dissertation, this piece assesses risk as an adoption constraint using findings from existing literature and from primary research.
