Itad has been contracted to do a value for money (VfM) assignment for DFID Ethiopia.

The work is in two parts, firstly developing a VfM framework for the suite of human development programmes, which covers health, education and WASH, with a total budget of just under £500m. The second part of the work will involve taking the VfM framework and undertaking a detailed VfM assessment of the major Protection of Basic Services (PBS) trust fund, which is the main trust fund into which DFID and a number of other bilateral and multilateral donors channel their aid to Ethiopia. This has a similar budget to the human development programmes, meaning that this assignment will be looking at around £1bn of development funds.

The work will be completed by the end of October 2014.
