In 2017, Porticus aligned its grant-making under 12 thematic portfolios in the areas of education, society, faith, and climate, to better capitalise on its global presence and accelerate its efforts to support systemic change. Three years into this change process, we assessed whether they were on the right track in supporting systems change and whether the portfolio approach was adding the value Porticus had hoped for.
While the report is focused specifically on Porticus, it provides useful insights for other foundations on the internal structural, process, and behavioural changes needed to enable funders to address the root causes of social, economic, and environmental problems.
