This Reality Check Approach (RCA) study was commissioned by DFID-Nepal as part of the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) component of the third phase of the Rural Access Programme (RAP3). The ‘one-off’ thematic study seeks to provide a rich qualitative insight into the experiences and perspectives of the beneficiaries of the trail bridges programme of RAP3. The programme is part of the economic infrastructure component and complementary to both the roads and economic development components. RCA is an internationally recognised form of qualitative research that requires the study team to live with people living in poverty in their own homes for periods of time.
