Abaka Debrah joined Itad in 2022 as part of our Research Analyst programme. He is currently situated in the Fragile and Conflict Affected Settings practice. His research interests centre around localisation, humanitarian assistance, and institutional effectiveness.
Prior to joining Itad, Abaka worked as a Corporate Fundraising Associate at Street Child UK, providing support to the charity’s UK Fundraising team to strengthen their corporate partnerships and also working with the Global Partnership teams to support localisation efforts.
Abaka holds an MSc in International Development with Conflict and Humanitarian Action from the University of Bath. For his thesis, Abaka explored the history, effectiveness, and holistic impact of Official Development Aid (ODA) in Ghana in response to the Ghanaian government’s “Ghana Beyond Aid (GhBA)” agenda.
