Edward Hedley is a Principal Consultant at Itad in the area of markets, business and supply chains, and impact investing and finance. In recent years, Edward has specialised in the area of market systems development, seeking to understand how programmes can produce a sustained impact on poverty at scale by building the inclusivity, capacity and resilience of the sectors in which they work. His evaluations in this area, including a recent evaluation of a large market-led programme in Nepal, have enhanced the global knowledge base.
Edward has worked in over 15 different countries, with a particular focus on East Africa, West Africa and South Asia. At Itad, Edward manages a large evaluation of the Dutch Good Growth Fund and is Team Leader for an evaluation of the Mastercard Foundation’s Dynamic Programme.
He is an experienced evaluator who has designed and delivered both quasi-experimental and theory-based evaluations, including the use of contribution analysis and realist evaluation. He has also designed monitoring and value for money frameworks for large, multi-year programmes.
