Iago Velasco joined Itad in 2019 as a Business Development Administrator and was promoted to Business Development Officer in 2021. He provides support across Itad’s bidding processes to ensure the quality of their delivery.
Iago started his career in the third sector, where, whilst still at school, he volunteered with people with learning disabilities for his mother’s foundation. More recently, he worked with Third Half Soccer to coordinate the operational and financial aspects of the organisation. Iago is a passionate believer in sport for social change, which is why he enjoyed his time at a small social enterprise that works with NGOs to achieve a sustainable source of income through tourism.
Iago holds an MA in development studies from the Institute of Development Studies, where he specialised in agricultural policy and innovation. His dissertation compared the processes of aquaculture development in Malawi and Egypt.
