Joana joined Itad in September 2021 and currently works as a research analyst through our RA programme, which seeks to help give early-career individuals the tools they need for MEL consultancy in the development sector. She is currently working within the Human Development practice, working across a range of areas including self-care, family planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and education.
In her current role, Joana has experience supporting the delivery of a variety of evaluations and working with a diverse range of clients. In her role as a research analyst, she also supports the development of project deliverables , assists team coordination and provides a wide range of administrative support.
Prior to joining Itad, Joana studied at the University of Sussex where she completed a BA in Anthropology International Development. She is currently completing an MA in Governance, Public Policy and Development at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS).
Joana also has experience working in Ethiopia and Somaliland with a local consultancy company where she supported the programme implementation, and business development teams.
Joana’s research interests include gender, public policy, governance, political access, advocacy and influence; and how learning and equitable partnerships can lead to sustainable and gradual systematic changes.
