Mattia Edallo is a Business Development Administrator at Itad. He joined the Business Development team in 2021 and provides administrative and research support across Itad’s bidding processes to ensure the quality of their delivery.
Mattia has spent the last ten years of his career in Sudan, working in a range of sectors from diplomacy to education. In 2016 he established the Comboni Italian Center in the capital, Khartoum – the first and only Italian language and culture centre in the country, and he continues to lead the local and expat staff remotely on a voluntary basis.
During his time in Sudan, Mattia also worked extensively for the Embassy of Italy in a variety of offices, most recently in the Cultural and Commercial Office, promoting initiatives of intercultural significance, in collaboration with NGOs, UN agencies and other diplomatic missions.
Mattia says ‘through my experience in Sudan I gained a deep passion to make a positive impact in local and international communities and the development of inter-cultural approaches and skills’.
Mattia holds an MA in International Education and Development from the University of Sussex. His dissertation focused on the role of teachers as agents of social change in a post-revolution Sudan.
