Paul is Itad’s Global Safety and Security Manager with over 20 years of experience in international security in conflict-affected countries. His role includes defining the strategic direction, governance, and decision-making processes within Global Safety and Security and providing security risk management expertise to support the safe execution of Itad’s client services.
The last seven years of his career have been devoted to security in the humanitarian and development sector. Paul has a range of risk-based knowledge from the Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Asia, supporting projects in emergency, livelihood, education, child protection, and sexual and reproductive health, including WISH and CIFF. Paul previously served as the principal security advisor for MSI Reproductive Choices, War Child UK, and the Danish Refugee Council in Somalia. Along with a lengthy military career in the UK, he consulted for NATO and US Department of Defence programmes, where he supported initiatives to lower the threats of IEDs to civilians and militaries. Paul currently serves on the Varndean College board of governors in Brighton.
