The Accra Action Agenda (AAA), adopted at the 3rd High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, committed partner and donor countries to voluntarily monitor the implementation of the Principles for Good International Engagement in Fragile States and Situations.
The aim of the initiative
The aim of the Principles monitoring initiative was to assess the progress that international actors have made in implementing the 10 Principles and how they have contributed to the overarching goals of partner countries; and generate the first set of qualitative indicators to be used alongside the Paris Declaration surveys.
Our role
Itad worked with DFID and the OECD-DAC Fragile States Group to draft country and synthesis monitoring reports, produce issue papers on peacebuilding and state-building, and support partner countries in hosting joint consultative meetings. These meetings took place in Côte d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, and Sierra Leone, and fed into the 4th OECD-DAC High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness held in 2011.
