In 2003 The African Development Bank (AfDB) launched the African Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI), with the aim of improving rural water supply and sanitation facilities across Africa.
Objectives of the review
In 2011, Itad led the Review of this project. The main objectives of the review were to provide evidence of how RWSSI had met its objectives, to identify any shortcomings of the project and to make recommendations on how the project could be improved. The review was an independent assessment and the Bank prepared a Management Response to it for submission to its Board of Directors.
