Evaluation of the use of Mobile Phone Technology for Nutrition Service Delivery in Indonesia

2014-2015; UK; IDS

The use of mobile phone technology may offer innovative opportunities to tackle persistently high levels of child nutrition. However, despite the enthusiasm for using mobile phones for nutrition service delivery, a recent review found very few studies that critically assessed their application.

Researchers at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) are evaluating the impact of mobile phone technology on growth monitoring and the quality of nutrition counselling in Indonesia.  Itad have provided support and expertise to develop the framework for the realist evaluation and process tracing aspects of the evaluation; elaborating a process-tracing mechanism and creating draft CMO configurations.
