Expert Paper on Refugee Livelihoods

2003; United Kingdom; UNHCR

Itad was contracted by UNHCR in order to draw in from some findings from an expert paper written which concludes that it is essential that the delivery of external aid (including rehabilitation, or compensation, activities) develop mechanisms that better understand, foster and engage with local people and their livelihood strategies.

The Refugee Livelihoods Project (RLP) is an initiative to examine strategies used by refugees to support themselves and the potential for UNHCR and other actors to promote livelihood security options among refugees, returnees and members of the host communities.
