The Department for International Development’s (DFID) Forest Governance, Markets and Climate Programme (FGMC) is a 10-year, 250 million pound programme aimed at tackling forest governance failures in developing timber-producing countries, and the consequent market failures that result in illegal exploitation of forest land and resources and the associated trade in timber and other commodities.
The fund is overseen by a Steering Committee of DFID, DECC and Defra – the three UK government departments most directly concerned with forestry and climate change. The aim of this project is to ensure that FGMC’s activities are on track relative to the milestones set out in the programme logical framework and are contributing effectively to the Outputs and the Outcome.
Our role
Itad is working in partnership with Triple Line Consulting. The two companies have assembled a team of 23 consultants, who are scrutinising the overarching M&E framework for the programme, conducting a series of annual reviews in Africa, Latin America and Asia and engaging with FGMC grant holders to gain an in-depth understanding of the achievements of the fund to date.
