Provision of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning services for CSSF Eastern Africa (II)
2018-2021; FCO; Multi-country
Itad, together with partner Altai Consulting, has been contracted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to deliver monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) services across UK Conflict, Stability & Security Fund (CSSF) programmes across the Eastern Africa region, including the Somalia, East Africa, Sudan, South Sudan, Africa Peace and Security, and Great Lakes region programmes.
The CSSF is a multi-year funding mechanism which supports the UK Government’s work in addressing conflict and fragility globally, under the direction of the National Security Council (NSC). It is one of the UK Government’s main instruments for tackling conflict and instability.
This contract builds on Itad and Altai’s initial work with CSSF Eastern Africa from 2015-2018 on MEL system development, strategic alignment of CSSF programmes and upskilling of CSSF teams, which laid a firm foundation for CSSF Eastern Africa’s results management, accountability and learning.
The new contract focuses on understanding impact, building evidence and cross-strategy learning. It plays a dual role of providing targeted MEL support and advice to CSSF teams on HMG-led MEL processes, as well as undertaking independent external services including, third party monitoring and verification, primary research, independent reviews and evaluations.
