Tanzanian Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire Pilot Survey

1999; Tanzania; World Bank

Itad was contracted by the World Bank for the development of the Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire (CWIQ) and provided the TA for pilot surveys in Kenya and Ghana.

The survey in Tanzania was piloted in the context of a Tanzania Social Action Fund and the Task Force on Poverty and Welfare Indicators, set up under the auspices of the Poverty Eradication Unit in the Vice President’s office. Additional surveys were undertaken with visits over several years.

The CWIQ was developed as a household survey to measure the effectiveness of the delivery of social services to different population groups. The specific indicators measured are access, utilisation and satisfaction with core social and economic services.
