Ruth Sherratt

Ruth Sherratt joined Itad in 2019 as a consultant in our health theme. She has over 12 years’ experience in international development, across both the health and education sectors, in the UK and overseas.

Ruth worked on international school linking programmes at the British Council in London for two years, before relocating to Belize, where she worked for a number of organisations, including a senior management position at Ministry of Health, where she was responsible for the strategic and operational management for all health services (encompassing both clinical and environmental health) within the region in which she was based. Ruth’s role with the Ministry of Health included oversight and technical input into all of the Ministry’s programmes, including those covering maternal, child and adolescent health, epidemiological surveillance, child nutrition, vector control, health education, WASH, quality improvement and health systems strengthening initiatives. As part of this varied role she also facilitated internal and external monitoring and evaluation activities, including those conducted by WHO/PAHO, World Bank and CDC.

Since returning to the UK in late 2017 and prior to joining Itad, Ruth worked in TB Alert’s international programme department on health, poverty reduction and community education tuberculosis projects in Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Ruth holds a Masters in Education, Health Promotion and International Development from University College London, and a BSc in Astrophysics from the University of Edinburgh.
